About

Huntington, West Virginia is a fantastic small city full of friendly people, beautiful architecture, and interesting things to do and this site is geared at letting you know why we choose to live here.  If you are thinking of relocating to a small city that let’s you live your life on your terms while still offering access and amenities only found in large cities then Huntington might be perfect for you.

Huntington is nestled along the Ohio River right where Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia meet.   The river helps insulate our small city from most of the worst weather than moves through the region and both our winters and summers are generally pretty mild.

Huntington has a great selection of parks where you can find a pick up game of basketball or flag football, tennis courts, and even a great disc golf course. We have a renowned rose garden, a beautiful park right along the river front, a classic theater that is in the midst of a grand restoration, and small, quiet communities full of caring people. Even if you were to burn through all of the fun things to do within the city limits there are tons of activities within a short distance of our downtown such as Beech Fork Lake State Park.

If shopping is your thing instead of sporting we have Pullman Square, a modern shopping and town-center which also features the largest multiplex in the state. All along downtown’s old streets are new small specialty shops that have sprung to life in the last ten years where you can find just the right gift for those people who are hard to shop for; from shoes and custom handbags to professional chef’s gear and lessons. Plus, within just a couple of hours you can reach both Columbus, Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky for even more shopping options.

No matter what you’re looking for in a city Huntington seems to offer it. So forget what you think you know about Huntington and spend some time here amongst those of us who live here and have chosen it as our hometown.
